Death and Resurrection

Beloved Prodigal was born a year ago this week, when my sisters in Christ, Mary DeMuth and Bettie Gilbert spoke truth into my life, a truth Audrey Assad captures so well: "No matter how wounded you are, you have a voice, you have strength in the LORD, you have power in the LORD, the power... His: Birthing a Genuine Faith

As a little girl, I learnt to suppress and stuff pain away. I was afraid of what it did with me. I didn't know what to do with the raw anger, the emptiness, the confusion. Known and loved as the “good girl", ever obedient, compassionate and kind, I couldn't look myself in the mirror and... Continue Reading →

Friends are Beautiful Gifts from God

What does it mean to be a friend? Generally, friends are more than mere acquaintances. Rhymezone defines friend as “a person you know well and regard with affection and trust.” I believe friends are beautiful gifts from God. Friends love each other, but what does real love consist of and why should we love each... Continue Reading →

What if we circle back around to find rest in our Redeemer?

When I look back over my shoulder to the path I've personally traveled, rather than a straight line, I see a number of circles.  Some of us may remember from geometry class that the shortest distance between two points is a straight line; however, we tend to live out our journey to eternity by traveling in circles.  Perhaps God's intention is not necessarily the shortest distance.  What if He rather enjoys the adventurous journey of creating an intimate, trusting love relationship with His bride?

Is _______ worth asking one more time? by Lisa Brittain

This is THE pivotal question, which served as my impetus for seeking a complete renovation of my heart, my marriage, and my family during the recent drought season of my life.  The question was asked of me by a counselor right at nine years ago. I was alone, again, in a counselor's office.  This latest counselor specialized in helping couples create or re-create intimacy in their marriage relationship.  You might recognize the problem.  I was alone.

Remember: A Mama’s Memories

We have a favorite story that usually gets shared at least once a year in our family gatherings. Even though our children were all young when it happened, (in fact our daughter wasn't even born yet,) each one could probably repeat the story verbatim now, since they've heard it throughout their growing-up years. And... Continue Reading →
